Who we are
The Gender Talk is an online platform designed to open up a space for dialogue with and for young people on gender equality, mental wellbeing, sexuality and relationships.
Here, you’ll find information, tools and learning pathways to help you understand and navigate these topics — free from stereotypes and prejudice.
We believe that educating about sexuality and relationships, gender equality, mental health, and wellbeing should start early in life and continue throughout it. That’s why The Gender Talk is not only for young people, but also for families and education professionals; real change happens together – through knowledge, dialogue and mutual support.
Social norms and stereotypes deeply shape our emotional and sexual lives. They are also at the root of many forms of inequality and gender-based violence. Talking openly about these issues helps build:
- healthier, more respectful relationships.
- stronger protection of rights.
- greater wellbeing for everyone.
Together with CESIE ETS and the SexSense network, we have developed a Manifesto to promote Comprehensive Sexuality Education across Europe.
We advocate for the universal right to sexuality and relationships education, upholding values of inclusion, empowerment and equality for all.
The Manifesto calls on policymakers, educators, health professionals and stakeholders to work together to ensure access to high-quality Comprehensive Sexuality Education worldwide.
The Gender Talk was created by CESIE ETS in collaboration with a network of European organisations.
It builds on several projects – including REBOOT NOW, LoveAct and Bottom Up Talks, making their resources accessible to anyone who wants to learn, take action and make a difference.
